WKU Recreation Administration Program Donates $4000 to Charities |

May 7, 2008On April 19, 2008, students from the James D. Smith's Recreation 306 – Program Planning Course and Recreation 420 - Commercial Recreation Course at Western Kentucky University hosted the Fourth Annual Hilltopper Black Bag Classic sponsored by the Bowling Green Convention and Visitors Bureau. The bass fishing tournament held at Barren River Lake generated a $3000 donation for The Dream Factory, a local organization granting dreams to children with critical and chronic illnesses from the 10 county Barren River Area Development District. Another $1000 was donated to the Mark "The Shark" Williams Scholarship Fund which has been set up to benefit a recreation major.
