Student Health Insurance
WHO CAN ENROLL?
Domestic undergraduate students enrolled in twelve (12) or more credit hours and domestic graduate students enrolled in nine (9) or more credit hours, are eligible to enroll in this insurance plan. During the summer, domestic undergraduate students enrolled in six (6) or more credit hours and domestic graduate students enrolled in three (3) or more credit hours are eligible to enroll. During any semester, at least half of the hours must be on-campus credit hours.
Undergraduate and Graduate students finishing up degree requirements through internships and practicums research taking one (1) or more credit hours and were previously enrolled in the plan the prior semester are elgible to enroll in the Student Health Insurance Plan.
*All International students are required and automatically enrolled in this student health insurance plan.
Premium payments are due through Tuition and Fees or need to be paid at the ISSS office.*
HOW TO ENROLL?
- Option 1: Student may enroll online at www.ahpcare.com/wku by usinga check or credit card for your premium payment.
- Option 2: To submit an enrollment form by mail, please download the enrollment form then complete and submit with a money order or check payable to ACE American Insurance Company. You may also mail in the enrollment form with credit card information to automatically charge your premium to Visa, MasterCard, or Discover. Mail the enrollment form and payment to Academic HelathPlans, P.O. Box 1605, Colleyville, TX 76034-1605. Your premium payment must be received at the time you enroll in the plan.

WKU Multinational Study Abroad Plan
Study Abroad Health Insurance is now offered through Academic Health Plans. This is the mandatory Health Insurance plan for full time students who are engaged in full-time educational or research activities of Western Kentucky University outside the United States. This plan is also offered to Faculty/Staff and their dependents. Details of the 100% coverage plan, including premium costs can be found by going to the following website (insert link to AHP Study Abroad website). As a full-time student, the premium will be automatically attached to your WKU billing statement. Please see your Study Abroad Adviser for additional questions, or contact Linda Heady, Ins and Billing Coordinator-WKU Health Services at 270-745-5034.
Insured Students enrolled under the plan shall have access to 24-hour global emergency services provided by Scholastic Emergency Services. Details can be found here (attach Scholastic Emergency Services Brochure).
