"Atoms & Rays"

Radiation — good or bad? Radiation is all around us: we can measure it and work with it even though it is invisible. But is it helping us or is it something we need to protect ourselves from?

When the doctor uses X-rays to study a broken bone, that is radiation. It seems like most superheroes owe their powers to radiation: Invisible Woman (of the Fantastic Four), the Hulk, Spiderman, or Superman, but that is just make-believe. On the other hand, it is radiation that we worry about when a nuclear power plant is built near our home or radon gas gets into our basement.

Join us as we turn our curiosity toward investigations about the science of radiation.
