Here comes Girls In Science Day 2009 at Western Kentucky University!

Who can participate? Young women in 4th, 5th, 6th, and 7th grades

What is “Girls in Science Day”? It is exciting hands-on activities for girls to increase their confidence in math and science.

Is there a cost?  It is only $5 per participant to help in offsetting the cost of the materials, lunch and t-shirts.  Scholarships are available to students with financial need.  We are unable to accept purchase orders for registration fees.

What is the schedule?  The day consists of a morning and afternoon session.  During the morning session, students attend fun classes in several areas of science and math.  This year, there are 13 classes from which to choose!!!  After lunch will be the popular Chemistry Magic Show!

How do I register and choose classes? Print the registration forms and a list of classes, and mail to            Megan Green, Western Kentucky University, Women’s Studies Center, 1906 College Heights Boulevard 21066, Bowling Green, KY  42101   along with a check or money order for $5 (If you qualify for financial need, please have your teacher contact us). Both forms MUST be completed and returned.  Students will be attending three classes but should choose the top five classes in the event that some classes fill up.

Is there a limit on the number of participants that can be accommodated?
The total number of participants will be limited to 200 girls so please sign up early.  You will be notified by email regarding receipt of your registration so please print clearly on the registration form.
