The Great Books Foundation presents Two Day Core Training Thursday and Friday, October 20-21, 9:00 a.m. – 3:00 p.m. at the Carroll Knicely Conference Center.

Great Books Training

This course prepares participants to begin using the Great Books Foundation’s Shared Inquiry™ method of learning through reading and discussion with students at all levels. Learn questioning strategies that keep discussions lively and focused and improve students’ reading, critical-thinking, writing, and oral communication skills. Practice writing interpretive questions and using follow-up questions to involve children of all ages and proficiency levels. See how interpretive activities support student learning and meet state and district standards.

Attendance is required for both days of the course. Those who complete the full course are eligible for a discounted classroom set of Starting Off Strong that provides mini-lessons to introduce the elements of Shared Inquiry to your students. Continuing education credit is available.

This course is available for all grade levels, Kindergarten through 12th grade.

The cost of the two-day course is $280.
