The world is Broken. It was sundered during the Gods titans wars and was bairly on the path of recovery when it was sundered again. This time not by gods or titans but by heroes themselves.
To end the wars that was tearing the human kingdoms apart heroes journied to the Lords mountain to unlock the portal that was rumiored to hold the hidden lords of the world.
What was unleashed was all the dragons who had chosen to remove themselves from the world after the Gods titans so that it could heal with out their presence destroying the natural order.
What they had found on their return was the officers who had survived the war squabbling amongst themselves for power. This coupled with the lands known as the Empire being influenced by a Demonic power led the dragons to one choice. Burn the world and this time take a very active role in its rebuilding.
All most all lands were totally destroyed. The Elven nations was put to the torch. Their sacred tree?s destroyed. The Kingdoms armies demolished. The gnomes lands of heavily fortified castled demolished. Even the struggling kingdom of paladins forging a shining jewel in orc dominated lands were demolished. The secret vaults of black magic that they had sworn to keep from light of day was ransacked and reintroduced in to the world.
Since then the dragons have been carving out city state kingdoms. Each one over the hundreds of years an extension of the dragons will and personality.
This is the land that the comet is falling apon.
