welcome you to apply to the J. L. Marshall Business Community.

The J. L. Marshall Business Community

The J. L. Marshall Business Community is a unique setting designed for first year students interested in programs within the Gordon Ford College of Business. Student academic success is supported in the residence hall through programs and other initiatives that link classroom lectures with hall programming, peer tutoring, advising, referral services, and special opportunities to interact with faculty members and university staff.

  • The J. L. Marshall Business Community has 3 courses reserved for participants and students are pre-registered for a Business University Experience course (BA 175) section, Basic Computing Literacy (CIS 141), and Business and Professional Speaking (COMM 161). You will still need to meet with your advisor and register for additional courses.
  • The J. L. Marshall Business Community is located in newly renovated Pearce-Ford tower where other living-learning communities are housed.
  • A $50 fee (per semester and included in your housing fees) is used for programs and initiatives within the community.
  • If you have questions about how to register for these reserved courses, please call the 745-3290. If you have questions about how to apply to the J. L. Marshall Business Community, or about the program in general, please call Housing and Residence Life at (270) 745-2037.
