  • September 2009:  The WKU Center for Professional Selling has received" Full Certification" as a sales center. This certification makes WKU one of thirteen certified sales programs in the United States, including the only one in the state of Kentcky. 
  • September 2009:  The Sales Center continues its activity within the sales education community. We recently once again participated in the USEF meeting in Illinois, in addition to outrech best-practice meetings at two sales institutes. We will attend the annual University Sales Center Alliance meeting at the end of the month. 
  • August 2009:  We have finished construction on a "state of the art" Role Play facility within Grise Hall. This facility will serve for student Role Plays during our Advanced Personal Selling Course. This facility was made possible from approxiately $30,000 in funding via grant funding, Dean funding, and funding from the Sales Center. 
  • May 2009:  We are happy to announce that Chris Derry has accepted our position as a sales executive in Residence!  Chris is a graduate of the US Air Force Academy and Vanderbilt, and brings over 25 years of sales experience to this position. 
  • May 2009:  Center Director Lukas Forbes has been selected to become a member of the Journal of Personal Selling & Sales Management Editorial Review Board.  This journal is widely considered the leading sales academic outlet in the world.
  • March 2009:  We are happy to announce that we have received funding to hire a "sales executive in residence."  This position is designed to find a sales "expert" who will become a full time, permanent teacher for our faculty.
  • March 2009:  Dr. Craig Martin attended the 2009 National Conference in Sales Management in Norfolk, VA
  • March 2009:  The WKU Center for Professional Selling proudly sponsored the 2009 "Take Back the Night" Walk against sexual violence, attended by over 700 walkers!
  • February 2009:  Students Rachael Payne of Louisville, KY and Diane DeRosa-Reynolds of Union, KY were selected to represent WKU at the 2009 National Collegiate Sales Competition in Kennesaw, GA.  These 2 students will compete against 100 students, representing 53 Universities, in a "role play" competition.  In addition, this event will include a job fair attended by ~35 National Firms.
  • January 2009:  For the 3rd year, The WKU Center for Professional Selling sponsored the 2009 SMEI Luncheon in Nashville, TN.
  • December 2008:  The Center has formally completed the application process to become a certified member of the University Sales Center Alliance.  This alliance consists of 12 National University Sales Centers.
  • November 2008:  Student Stephanie Jacker was selected as the first Internship student for the partnership between HeathCo LLC and the Sales Center.  Stephanie will conduct a paid internship throughout 2009.
  • November 2008:  The WKU Center for Professional Selling held its first Advisory Board Meeting.  This meeting was attended by representatives from 8 different national Firms, and also include undergraduate and graduate representation.  The meeting concluded with a tour of WKU's new $40 Million football stadium expansion
