Student Organizations

  • Beta Alpha Psi
    Western Kentucky University is home to the Eta Omicron Chapter of Beta Alpha Psi. Beta Alpha Psi is the nationally recognized honorary fraternity of the accounting profession. To qualify for membership, a junior accounting student must maintain a 3.00 grade point average in all upper level accounting courses. In addition, an overall 3.00 grade point average is required.
  • Betta Gamma Sigma
    Founded in 1913, Beta Gamma Sigma was the first national honor society in business. Today, it is the highest recognition a business student anywhere in the world can receive in an undergraduate or master's program at a school accredited by AACSB International. Currently, more than 480,000 individuals have accepted membership in Beta Gamma Sigma.
  • Kentucky Society of Certified Public Accountants (KSCPA)
    The Department of Accounting at Western Kentucky University encourages active participation with other local organizations. The Barren River Chapter of the Kentucky Society of Certified Public Accountants (KSCPA) normally sponsors a student event each semester.
  • American Institute of Certified Public Accountants (AICPA)
    Student membership in the American Institute of Certified Public Accountants (AICPA) is strongly encouraged. Membership fees are extremely reasonable. Dr. Mark Ross serves as a campus champion for this organization.
