GEOG 391 Data Analysis and Interpretation [Old 491]
CONTENT: This course studies
the basic concepts of statistical models and uses of samples.
Topics include variation, statistical measures, distribution, tests of
significance, analysis of variance and elementary experimental design,
bivariate regression, correlation, and chi-square as related to the interpretation
and use of scientific data. Prerequisite: Math 109 or higher, Geography 100 and Geog 101 or 110 (or permission of the instructor); Required for Geography majors, and strongly recommended for other social and physical
sciences. 3 hours.
