BACHELOR OF SCIENCE DEGREE IN GEOGRAPHY

GIS AND SPATIAL ANALYSIS TRACK - EFFECTIVE SPRING 2008

For the Geography major, a minimum of 36 semester hours are required, with at least 18 semester hours at the 300 and 400 level. For minor requirements in this track, contact a Geography advisor. The Spatial Analysis (Geographic Information Sciences) Track focuses on the skills required in a variety of technical fields. In addition, students will qualify for the 13-hour GIS Certificate in this program. Students have greater flexibility in this track to focus on a suite of courses that prepares the student for employment in planning, business, management, government, consulting, and myriad other areas.

The Department recommends strongly that students take GEOG300 at the end of the sophomore or beginning of the junior year. Students should view and download the Department's 4-year Program guidelines, which detail suggested courses for students to take each semester in order to graduate in four years.
