BACHELOR OF SCIENCE DEGREE IN GEOGRAPHY

CITY AND REGIONAL PLANNING MINOR [GIS Track]

For the Geography minor in City and Regional Planning, a minimum of 21 semester hours are required, with at least 12 semester hours at the 300 and 400 level. For major requirements in this track, refer back to the Geography and Geology homepage. To view the Management Track for the City and Regional Planning Minor, click on Management Track. The City and Regional Planning Minor focuses on the skills necessary to plan for human interactions with the social and physical environments in urban and regional settings, based on GIS technology. Students have greater flexibility in this track to focus on a suite of courses that prepare the student for employment in a variety of government and non-government areas. The Department recommends strongly that students take GEOG240 at the end of the sophomore or beginning of the junior year.
