GEOG 495 Supervised Internship
CONTENT: This course offers supervised
internship experience in a cooperating government or private organization,
institution, community, or business.
A letter from the individual who will supervise the student during the internship experience is required, detailing how many hours and weeks the student will work and what the student
will do during the internship, before registration. Students must work at least 150 hours for each 3 hours of internship credit.
At the end of the internship experience, the internship supervisor is required to submit a written evaluation of the student, and the student is required to
submit a 4-5 pp. paper (1" margins, double-spaced, 12 CPI Times Roman font)that discusses what the student learned during the internship and how it contributed to the student's university education.
Prerequisite: Permission of the instructor, junior or senior standing. 3-12 hours. No more than 9 hours of internship can be earned in a minor program.
