BACHELOR OF SCIENCE DEGREE IN METEOROLOGY

NEW PROGRAM - UPDATED SPRING 2008

For the B.S. Meteorology major (ref # 578), a minimum of 49.5 semester hours are required, with at least 25 semester hours at the 300 and 400 level. Additional program requirements are 24 hours. No minor is required for this program, although students are encouraged to minor in Mathematics.
Students major in meteorology will learn the key concepts and skills necessary to qualify as a meteorologist for the National Weather Service, and to meet the standards of the American Meteorological Society.
For more information about the proposed new major, contact gregory.goodrich@wku.edu.
The Department recommends strongly that students take GEOG300 at the end of the sophomore or beginning of the junior year.
Students should view and download the Department's 4-year Program guidelines, which detail suggested courses for students to take each semester in order to graduate in four years. You can also view online the course rotation schedule for Winter 2007 through Fall 2008.
