VISITING ASSISTANT PROFESSOR
HUMAN GEOGRAPHY AND PLANNING

Western Kentucky University, Department of Geography and Geology, is seeking applicants for an Visiting Assistant Professor (Human Geography and Planning.

This is a full-time, visiting assistant professor position to begin August 15, 2008, until May 15, 2009. The successful applicant should hold a Ph.D. in Geography (ABD candidates will also be considered). Applicants should be qualified to teach World Regional Geography, North America, Planning, and Spatial Statistics courses, with the training and/or experience to teach an advanced course in the applicant's specialty. Candidates with experience in urban planning are encouraged to apply. The Department anticipates advertising for a tenure-track position in urban planning and spatial analysis during the Fall 2008 semester.

Qualifications:
· Earned Ph.D. in Geography is required, but ABD candidates also considered.
· Must demonstrate a commitment to excellence in teaching and research at the undergraduate and Master’s levels.
· Collaborative and interdisciplinary research is encouraged.
