TENURE-TRACK ASSISTANT PROFESSOR
CULTURAL GEOGRAPHY

The Department of Geography and Geology at Western Kentucky University invites applications for a tenure-track cultural geography position beginning August 2009 at the level of Assistant Professor. Screening of applications will start on November 15 and continue until the position is filled.

The successful applicant will contribute to expanding undergraduate and graduate programs in cultural geography by participating in curriculum development and teaching courses in place and culture, thematic geography (ethnicity, political, historical, economic, religions, regions, etc.) tourism, planning, and qualitative methods. We seek candidates who demonstrate excellence in teaching, directing student research, and who maintain a substantive research program. Ability to help the department continue to internationalize its curriculum is preferred. Ph.D. required at time of appointment.
