BACHELOR OF SCIENCE DEGREE IN GEOGRAPHY

CULTURAL GEOGRAPHY CONCENTRATION - EFFECTIVE SPRING 2008

For the Geography major, a minimum of 36 semester hours are required, with at least 18 semester hours at the 300 and 400 level. For minor requirements in this track, contact a Geography advisor. The Cultural Geography concentration focuses on the skills required to understand the relationships between cultures, societies, political systems, and economic systems in a global context. Students have greater flexibility in this track to focus on a suite of courses that prepares the student for employment in government, consulting, planning, international business, the diplomatic corps, and myriad other areas. The Department recommends strongly that students take GEOG300 at the end of the sophomore or beginning of the junior year. Students should view and download the Department's 4-year Program guidelines, which detail suggested courses for students to take each semester in order to graduate in four years. You can also view online the course rotation schedule for Winter 2007 through Fall 2008.
