Warren County was formed on December 19, 1796. The county is 546 square miles in size and was named for General Joseph Warren. Warren County’s county seat is the City of Bowling Green. Warren County was primarily agricultural until the 1970s when an industrial boom took place in the county. By 1979, 64 percent of the county was urban as opposed to rural. One of the many manufacturing industries in Warren County is the General Motors plant where the Corvette is produced.
