GEOS 500  Geoscience Research and Literacy

CONTENT:  This course develops the student's geoscience research skills with an emphasis on the posing of research problems, thesis statements, documentation, organization, and presentation. The lab section of the course focuses on key themes in Geoscience literacy and is a self-directed reading and analysis program, designed to familiarize students with the geoscience literature.  Prerequisite:  Graduate Student standing. Newly admitted graduate students must take this course in the first Fall semester of admission. It is a required course for all electives in the MS Geoscience program.  4 hours.
