GEOL 111 The Earth
CONTENT: Students seeking a laboratory experience in geology to complete
their General Education requirements must enroll in this lecture course. This
course meets the program requirement for a geology laboratory required of all
geology majors and minors, prospective science teachers, and others. Topics
include rocks, minerals, soils, fossil fuels, surface geologic processes, structural
geology, earthquakes, and the Earth's interior, global tectonics, hydrology, and
environmental geology. Corequisite: GEOL113. 3 hours. Satisfies General
Education category D-I (N).
