WKU Men's Basketball Coach Darrin Horn: "It's good to be home! Being here tonight is an absolute dream come true for me. There is no place in America or in college basketball that I would rather be the head coach than at Western Kentucky University. It is home to me. It is where I met my wife and where I graduated from. This is where my heart is, this is where my pride is, this is where my passion is ... This progam has definitely back. That is a credit to Dennis (Felton) and his staff. The thing that is key as I start out here is we want to build on that tradition. We want to build upon what has been restored and continue to move forward with it. We do that in a couple ways. We do that with an up-tempo, pressing style of basketball. We also have to have a commitment in every way, shape and form; academically, the way we carry ourself on campus and in the community, and in the way we work on the court. The third thing we have to build is an incredible attitude of unselfishness. Every team I've been part of as a player or a coach has thrived on caring about the team and winning more than the individual.
The last thing we have to do is not be outworked by anybody in America. I don't care what conference we're in, I don't care who's on our schedule, we are going to work harder than anybody in the country ... We obviously have a good team coming back. Our players can continue to make individual improvement, and through that comes team improvement. That's my
philosophy. I can't tell you how excited I am to be back, how excited I am to be home and how excited I am to get right to work."
