Welcome Letter
Dear WKU Forensics Alumni and Friends,
Greetings! And welcome to our newly established Forensics Alumni Association Webpage. At our summer meeting at the Bowling Green Country Club on July 9, we finalized our board membership, elected officers, named the organization, edited our constitution, and considered our forthcoming brochure and membership drive.
Now that we are off and running, we urge you to share our excitement about cultivating and renewing friendships; maintaining close ties to the University and helping promote its long-established tradition of excellence in forensics; and supporting our national and international championship program by enabling students and coaches to continue competition at the championship level.
Many of you have received fund-raising information which outlines suggested giving levels from $1 to $1,000. If you did not receive the mailing, or need additional information, please contact Coach Judy Woodring (judy.woodring@wku.edu) or call her at (270) 745-6340. A donation of any size will be appreciated and deposited directly in the Alumni Forensics budget. Annual dues have been set at $25 (see notice in this webpage). In the near future, we plan to initiate a serious forensics fundraising campaign, aimed at developing our own association and enhancing the award-winning WKU Forensic Society.
Please mark October 23, 2004 (Western's Homecoming) on your calendars. Coach Woodring is arranging a Homecoming tent, which she describes as the biggest and best that you would [ever] want to attend. Expect bountiful refreshments and exciting entertainment by Kassie DePaiva (who plays Blair on One Life to Live). Kassie will be singing from her new CD. A former student of Judy s, she has appeared on many popular televisions shows.
So if you want to bond with fellow members, stay in touch, remain active, and stay informed Don't delay . . . Join us today! Have a great summer. See you in October.
Sincerely,
Elizabeth
