Kentucky Folklife Program has an ongoing partnership with the Kentucky Arts Council through the Folk and Traditional Arts Apprenticeship program and the Community Scholars program.

Folk and Traditional Arts Apprenticeship

The Kentucky Arts Council promotes folk and traditional arts through the Folk and Traditional Arts Apprenticeship Grant.  The grant gives masters of a traditional art the opportunity to teach the skills and culture of their traditional art to an apprentice in their community.

Beginning in Spring 2012, the Folk and Traditional Arts Apprenticeship program was featured in a traveling exhibit "The Makings of a Master: Kentucky Folk Art Apprenticeships." The exhibit honors the 20 years of apprenticeships in this thriving program.
