From May-August 2012, Caitlin interned at LA Commons, a non-profit organization based in Los Angeles with the mission to help Los Angeles' diverse neighborhoods give voice to their unique stories through community-based arts programs that express the cultural and historical essence of the communities. Through these programs, LA Commons educates, empowers, and enriches neighborhoods, while promoting greater understanding, engagement and connectedness for residents and visitors to Los Angeles.

Caitlin worked on the community arts program, cultural tourism initiatives, and the Day of the Ancestors: Festival of Masks. For Found LA, a day of free, city-wide, neighborhood tours across Los Angeles, Caitlin managed program planning, community outreach, and sponsorship development. She supported the community arts program by helping to plan events and organize participation. She also contributed to the planning and marketing of the Day of the Ancestors festival in June and completed a grant for the festival to continue next year. In addition to these main tasks, Caitlin worked on website development, marketing, and other small projects as they came up.
