I was originally born in Louisville, Kentucky but I moved to Henry County when I was 11.
I went to Georgetown College and graduated in 2012 with a B.A. in Art History.
I've worked in a library since I started working. I worked at the Shelby County Public Library and the Henry County Public Library. I have some internships under my belt. I interned at Cardome Academy, well it's called Cardome Center now, between my junior and senior year of undergrad. I worked in their archives for The Cardome Academy of Visitation. It was once an all-girls Catholic boarding school and I organized a permanent exhibit for them. They are now doing a museum of the written word in the building that was once used as the boarding school. I've also interned at the Louisville Slugger Museum this last summer as a museum education specialist and I worked in their special summer exhibit, "Big Leagues, Little Bricks."
My internship actually turned me on to folklore because I was interested in the personal stories of the women who attended Cardome Academy. I actually got to interview and do oral histories with them. This became my undergrad thesis. I got to speak to several women of different ages and their experiences there.
