Responsibilities
I am responsible for overseeing inactive park records from when they arrive at the archives, to when they are fully processed, on the shelf, and cataloged. Depending on the stage of processing, my daily activities can include surveying a new acquisition, developing a hierarchy and processing plan, ordering supplies, culling, sorting, performing minor preservation (such as pulling rusty staples or rehousing photographic material), refoldering, labeling folders, boxing records, cataloging the collection into a collections management system, or creating a finding aid. I also help facilitate access to the records for researchers.
