Application Process for U.S. Citizen

Academic Year Procedures

Student must have filed a current Free Application for Federal Student Aid (FAFSA) and the results of this form must be on file at WKU's Department of Student Financial Assistance. A new FAFSA must be filed for each academic year.

If a student indicated work as part of aid preference on FAFSA, you must complete and return to our office an Application for Student Employment. The application can be printed off from http://www.wku.edu/Info/FinAid/StuEmpl/app.htm.

Once the Application for Student Employment has been processed, the student is sent a Student Referral Slip that lists the Current Job Vacancy website. The student should periodically check the Job Vacancy website for new openings.

It is the responsibility of the student to contact those departments with vacancies and arrange for an interview. The student should show the Student Referral Slip to each department that he interviews with to confirm eligibility to work on-campus. If hired by a department, the student will then be required to complete the necessary tax forms (K-4, W-4, WSOT), I-9 Form, and provide proper documentation to establish identity (i.e. driver's license, social security card).
