WKU Mulch Yard
|
The WKU Department of Agriculture works with the city of Bowling Green to recycle the leaves from the city collection. The recycling process results in a compost/mulch material made 100% from the leaves. The material is used for mulching flowerbeds and gardens. The proceeeds are split between the Ag Department ad the city. 75% GOES TO AG DEPARTMENT SCHOLARSHIPS and 25% goes back to the city. We also sell decorative wood chip mulch. It comes from various cattle events held at the WKU L.D. Brown Ag Expo Center and the tree trimming crews of WRECC. Returning for 2009 is sawdust/manure. It comes from the new dairy facility. The cows live on a pack made of sawdust and it is mixed twice a day. This material is used mostly for gardens.
