Bachelor of Interdisciplinary Studies (BIS)
- The Elizabethtown/Radcliff/Fort Knox Regional Center offers the following emphasis areas to choose from:
- Business
- Education
- Technology
- Social and Behavioral
- Some coursework is offered through other delivery options:
- O– Online
- C– Correspondence
- The BIS degree emphasis area requires that you have 37 hours, including a 1–hour UC499 project
- GPA must be at least 2.0 in area of emphasis, at WKU, and overall.
- You are required to have 12 hours or 4 classes (1/3 of hours) of upper level classes (300-400) in the emphasis area.
- At least 42 hours, or 14 classes, must be upper level (300-400) on the degree program.
- 25% of total hours must be from WKU (32 hours or 11 classes).
- No more than 24 hours, or 8 classes, can be used in any one area: For example: Art000 = Art is the area
- You have up to seven years to complete the BIS degree program. After that time, the degree plan becomes null and void, unless student request an extension.
- Total of at least 120 hours unduplicated hours to be awarded for this degree.
- Military Coursework can be evaluated and used if applicable.
- WKU Elizabethtown/Radcliff/Fort Knox doesn’t offer 100 and 200 level courses at this location. However, if students would like to take their 100 and 200 level coursework through WKU online courses or at another accredited institution, a student just needs to be sure to pick coursework from the areas that are based off of the emphasis area that they have chosen and confirmed by the Military Programs Counselor.
