Preston Miller Park is a fantastic recreational facility with a water park, softball fields, paved bike and jogging path, and more. The pool itself is the largest stainless steel pool in the world. The floor of the pool and all of the surrounding decking is concrete. The Scott Center was utilized to test all of the concrete to make sure it met the project specifications. The concrete mix on this particular project had very tight specifications on the air content and the slump of the mix to make sure it could stand up to the elements. Students were able to do the field testing of the concrete as well as break test specimens in the lab. Once again, Alliance Corporation and Scott & Murphy were great partners on this project.
