Well, I guess that I have varied reasons for deciding to study in Segovia, which include the usual "expand my cultural experience" and "get to actually go to Europe" reasons that, however valid they may be, they are probably common among all participants. The main reason that I am attending is simply to learn Spanish. While most people attend the semester program to improve their Spanish, I am diving headfirst into a language that is essentially new to me (although I have many friends who are Spanish majors here in Morehead, so it's not really that new). As a biology major, I am very interested in rain forest biology and ecology and will have to use Spanish in my studies of Central American rain forest biota. Also, I hope to find some good rock climbing and biking there! Guess that's pretty much it. | |
