Premios Victoria Urbano
2011
(Presentados en la Conferencia Anual de la Asociación Internacional de Literatura y Cultura Femenina Hispánica realizada en Barcelona, Octubre 19-21, 2011)
En la categoría de Poesía fue considerada ganadora Adriana Gordillo por su serie de poemas encabezada por el titulado "Dibujo".
En la categoría de Teatro quedó galardonada Rosario M. (Montelongo) de Swanson por su monólogo "Metamorfosis ante el espejo de obsidiana”.
El jurado para las categorías de Poesía y Teatro fue formado por Tina Escaja, Alicia Giralt y Guadalupe Cortina.
En la categoría de Ensayo Crítico, el premio fue concedido a un artículo presentado en el congreso previo de la Asociación (AILCFH), en Austin, Texas, 2010. La galardonada fue Margaret Frohlich por su ensayo “What of Unnatural Bodies?: Liminality and Choice in Lucía Puenzo’s XXY and El niño pez”.
El jurado para esta categoría estuvo integrado por Jill Robbins, Zoé Jiménez y Tina Escaja.
Los textos premiados en las categorías de Teatro y Ensayo aparecerán publicados en la publicación digital de la asociación, GraFemas 2011, y los textos premiados en la categoría de Poesía se publicarán en la revista académica, Letras Femeninas.
En la categoría de Ensayo para Estudiantes Graduad@s II, quedó premiado el trabajo titulado “La India María: rompiendo con el estereotipo del indígena como ‘tonto’”, de Mariana Pineda-Dawe. El jurado estuvo integrado por Jill Robbins, Zoé Jiménez y Tina Escaja.
En cuanto al premio a la mejor monografía crítica presentada, el jurado ha decidido entregar el premio al manuscrito titulado: “Trauma, memoria y cuerpo: El testimonio femenino en Colombia (1985-2000)". La autora es Constanza López Baquero, de la Universidad de North Florida . El jurado fue conformado por Carmen de Urioste, Cynthia Tompkins y Tina Escaja.
The double issue (4.1-4.2) of Revista KARPA online journal has been
released. There are several articles that may be of interest to you:
Sue-Ellen Case (on the Spanish performer María Jerez), Holger Hartung (on
the installation Shibboleth by Doris Salcedo), Cecilia Aguilar (on a social
intervention piece in a marginal neighborhood in Mexico City), Sirena
Pellarolo (on gender, cabaret, and tango at the beginning of last century
in Buenos Aires), and Rosana Blanco-Cano (on Mexican feminist performance
group Polvo de Gallina Negra). There is also a special dossier about the
insubordination in favor of an education reform in Chile in September 2011,
including texts by Julia Antivilo and Leonor Silvestri.
There are also articles by Álvaro Villalobos (on a play represented by
Colombian inmates under the direction of Mapa Teatro), Ileana Diéguez (on
“paraperformances” or performative strategies in drug-related violence in
contemporary Mexico), artistic reflexions or interviews by/with “Dominican
York” performer Josefina Báez, Colombian painter Germán Rodríguez, Czech
actress and director Iveta Dusková, and French-Senegalese storyteller
Souleymane Mbodj. The issue also includes a review of theater play La Razón
blindada in Los Angeles, which won the 2011 LA Weekly Award.

PREMIO DE LITERATURA FEMENINA COLOMBIANA MONTSERRAT ORDÓÑEZ
CONVOCATORIA LASA 2012
La sección Colombia de LASA tiene el gusto de anunciar la cuarta
convocatoria del premio Montserrat Ordóñez. La sección otorgará un premio
de US $500.00 en reconocimiento a un trabajo reciente que abra nuevos
caminos y fortalezca una visión innovadora de las letras femeninas
colombianas.
Montserrat Ordóñez, profesora, investigadora y escritora fallecida en el
año 2001, trabajó durante muchos años en la Universidad de los Andes desde
donde enseñó, escribió y promovió la literatura femenina colombiana. Entre
sus obras se cuentan, La vorágine: textos críticos (Bogotá, Alianza
Editorial, 1987), una edición de crítica de la misma novela (Madrid,
Cátedra, 1990), una selección de escritos de Soledad Acosta de Samper
(Bogotá, Fondo Cultural Cafetero, 1988) y una edición de novelas y cuadros
de la vida suramericana de la misma escritora (Bogotá, Ediciones Uniandes y
Editorial Javeriana, 2004). Como escritora publicó los poemarios, Ekdysis
(Roldanillo, Ediciones Embalaje del Museo Rayo, 1987) y De piel en piel
(París, Indigo, 2002) además de columnas y escritos en revistas y diversas
publicaciones. El premio Montserrat Ordóñez se instituyó como un legado y
fomento a la búsqueda de nuevos lenguajes de expresión literaria que
continúen el proyecto de vida de esta escritora.
PUEDEN PARTICIPAR:
Libros en las siguientes categorías: etnografías, biografías, monografías,
antologías, memorias y ensayos relacionados con la escritura femenina
colombiana en español o inglés. La fecha de publicación debe ser entre los
años 2010 y 2011.
Las obras editadas podrán ser de uno o más autores, en caso de
compilaciones o antologías. No se aceptan manuscritos inéditos. Tanto las
casas de publicación como los/las autores/as pueden enviar propuestas.
DOCUMENTOS QUE DEBEN SER ENVIADOS:
Una copia del libro impreso debe ser enviada directamente a los tres
jurados que aparecen en el formulario. Desafortunadamente no se podrán
devolver los libros a los concursantes.

PUESTOS DE TRABAJO
1) The Spanish program in the Department of Languages, Literatures, and Linguistics at Syracuse
University invites applications for a one-year non-tenure track visiting assistant professor in
Spanish Golden Age Literature and Culture to begin in August 2011. Successful candidate will
demonstrate an active record of research and publication in some aspect of Golden Age literature
and cultural studies and excellence in teaching. Teaching duties will include three courses per
semester, including undergraduate and Master's-level in Golden Age with ties to Spanish
Medieval literature and culture. Ideal candidate will demonstrate innovative approaches. Areas
strongly considered include but are not limited to: transatlantic discourse, performance theory, or

Area of specialization is open. The successful candidate will be appointed
at the rank of Associate Professor or Full Professor with tenure. Initial

The Department seeks an accomplished scholar-teacher and a dynamic
administrator. The successful candidate should have an earned doctorate in
literature, cultural studies, and/or linguistics, broadly defined, in one
of the languages taught in the department, with an established record of

a successful administrator. She or he should be able to articulate an
academic vision for foreign languages and literatures and a clear strategy
for fostering excellence in teaching and scholarship. The Chair should be

The Chair reports directly to the Dean of the College of Humanities,
supervises the Department’s budget and oversees the recruitment, mentoring,
and tenure and promotion of faculty. One crucial responsibility of the
chair will be to focus on development and outreach through strategic
planning and networking with alumni and other individuals and organizations.
The Department of Languages and Literature is the largest and most diverse
in the College of Humanities. Our multicultural community has 30

Description of the position: The Department of Languages and Cultures at
West Chester University is seeking applicants for a tenure-track position
in Spanish; ability to teach French or German a plus. Candidates’ field
should include a focus on cultural studies, as well as expertise and strong
interest in the development of online and interactive courses in our
program, both at the graduate and undergraduate levels. Candidates should
have experience and be current in the design and the teaching of
online-based or hybrid language and / or culture courses, as well as
extensive knowledge of the application of specific non-traditional
technologies of remote course delivery (e.g., online classrooms, learning
management systems, web-based multimedia repositories, etc.).
The
successful candidate will teach traditional and alternative-format language
and culture courses.
Requirements for applicants: Ph.D. in Spanish or Hispanic Studies in hand
or degree requirements completed by date of hire. Scholarly expertise in
Spanish, Hispanic Cultural Studies, and experience with the design and
teaching of distance or hybrid courses, as well as native or near-native
proficiency in Spanish. However, preference will be given to candidates who
are proficient in more than just one language. The successful candidate
will also have an active research agenda and be familiar with current
trends in pedagogy. Finalists must successfully complete on-site interview
process and teaching demonstration.
