AREAS OF EXPERTISE:

Dr. Wisley's main areas of research and teaching interests are data modeling, forecasting, economic fluctuations, and the economics of gambling.  His current research includes studies on the construction of leading economic indicators, the efficiency of pari-mutuel wagering markets, managerial life cycles in coaching, and home runs hit in Major League baseball.  He teaches courses in statistics, data modeling, financial data modeling, econometrics, and forecasting.

  

PROFESSIONAL ACTIVITIES:

Dr. Wisley has published articles in academic journals such as the Southern Economic Journal, the Quarterly Review of Economics and Finance, and Business Economics.  He served as Treasurer of the Missouri Valley Economics Association and as a co-editor of the Kentucky Journal of Economics and Business.   He was also a member of the Governor's Economic Roundtable.
