AREAS OF EXPERTISE:

 Professor Cantrell specializes in money and banking and quantitative methods applied to the economic decision process.  His current research and service interests focus on the regional economic development impact of human capital investment attendant to the work force re-training initiatives.  He designs and conducts decision and design seminars for businesses and agencies throughout Kentucky.

  

PROFESSIONAL ACTIVITIES:

 Professor Cantrell serves as contributing economist for WKU-FM, the campus radio station.  His most recent publications have been "The Economic Impact of I-66 on Kentucky," and "The Cost/Benefit Problem for Economic Development Decisions in Rural Kentucky Counties."  Both monographs were issued by the Economic Development Institute of Western Kentucky University.
