Economics Conferences and Seminars
The following is a list of summer seminars that are available to undergraduate students who are seeking to learn more about capitalism. Interested WKU students can apply directly through the program links below for admission and for scholarships. Additional scholarship money may be available from the WKU Economics Department.
Clemson Institute
The 2013 “Ayn Rand’s ATLAS SHRUGGED and The Moral Foundations of Capitalism” summer conference will take place at Clemson University from May 24th through May 26th. Students can apply for scholarships that include tuition, room, board, and a travel stipend.
Application due: March 1st, 2013.
Mises University
The 2013 Mises University will be held July21-27 in Auburn, Alabama. Scholarships are available for the weeklong study of Austrian Economics that include tuition, room, and board.

Cato University
The 2013 Cato University will be held at the Cato Institute in Washington D.C.

Independent Institute
The 2013 Challenge of Liberty Summer Seminars are June 17-21 (Colorado Springs, CO) and July 15-19 (Belmont, CA).The Independent Institute is a non-profit, non-partisan, scholarly research and educational organization that sponsors in-depth studies of critical social and economic issues. It is located in Oakland California.

Institute for Humane Studies
In 2013, they offer weeklong seminars in Exploring Liberty; Liberty & Society;Morality, Capitalsim & Freedom; Revolunaries, Feformers, and Radicals: Liberty Emerges.

PERC (Property and Environment Research Center)
The 2013 Property Rights, Markets and Freedom program is offered in Bozeman, Montana from June 17-22.
The Fund for American Studies
Live, learn, and intern in Washington D.C. Take two classes in comparative economic and political systems at Georgetown University while interning in Washington D.C. June 5-August 3 2013.
