Introduction
Communication is a complex set of behaviors and interactions that involves both giving and receiving all kinds of information. This course will assist you in preparing yourself before communicating thus making your message much more effective. Also, knowing in advance what you want to accomplish, what you want to say, and making sure that everyone who needs to know the information is involved. This course will also help you to identify how to avoid miscommunication.
Objectives
The participant will learn to: (1) identify the characteristics of assertive behavior and include them in your interactions, 2) ask directly for what you need without being aggressive, (3) confront problem behaviors successfully, and (4) create equitable compromises with employees and peers.
