Statistical Process Control (SPC) is based on the application of statistical techniques to production situations. In order to understand and apply SPC techniques appropriately, it is vital that production employees understand the fundamentals of statistical analysis. This training session focuses on the basic statistics necessary to enhance quality and productivity through SPC. 8 hours total.
The participant will learn: (1) variable identification and measurement and measurement error, (2) basic frequency distributions, (3) measures of central tendency (mean, median, mode), (4) measures of dispersion (range, variance and standard deviation), (5) sampling as a tool for estimating parameters, (6) a comparison of individual and group variation, and (7) measurement of the natural variation of a process.
This seminar is intended for employees responsible for the operation of manufacturing processes and/or those people likely to compose quality improvement groups.
