Industrial Math

Introduction

It is essential that most employees in the production process understand basic mathematical concepts. For individuals planning to attend a statistical process control training session, it is a necessity. Furthermore, knowledge of metric units is needed by many such employees. Twelve hours total.

Objectives

The participant will learn: (1) the decimal number system, (2) addition, subtraction, multiplication, and division of decimal and fractional numbers, (3) correct rounding procedure, (4) percentages, (5) relative size, (6) concepts of squares and square roots, (7) proper key-stroke entry for calculator computational skills, (8) the names, symbols and prefixes of metric units, (9) comparisons and conversions between metric and U.S. customary units, and (10) illustrations and applications to business industry.
