Fair Supervisory Practices  

Introduction

State and federal legislation have covered virtually every aspect of managing. Even without laws, most of the required practices constitute sound human resource management as they involve treating people fairly. This workshop is designed to teach managers and/or supervisors the basic guidelines that should reduce potential litigation and help prevent unfair and illegal discrimination in the workplace. One 4-hour session.

Objectives

The participant will learn: (1) guidelines for making fair decisions regarding hiring, work assignments, terminations, and other terms or conditions, (2) the implications of the Title VII of the Civil Rights Act of 1964, (3) the implications of the Age Discrimination in Employment Act (as amended), (4) the implications of the Civil Rights Act of 1991, and (5) the implications of the Americans with Disabilities Act (1990).
