Effective Discipline  

Introduction

Since man is not always a rational being, deviance will occur in any setting. The work place is not immune to misbehavior. This workshop has been developed to assist supervisors in dealing with discipline in an assertive and affirmative approach. Two hours total.

Objectives

The participant will learn: (1) differences between discipline and punishment, (2) how to be more assertive in dealing with misbehavior, (3) uses of voice tone, verbal, and nonverbal cues, (4) how to make rules and enforce them, (5) uses of positive and negative reinforcement and preventative strategies, and (6) how to use an overall positive approach for dealing with discipline problems.
