Welcome to the Western Kentucky College Republican Web Page. The Western Kentucky University College Republican Chapter was founded in 1959 by J. Marshall Hughes and C. B. Embry. The two gentleman sought out Ray B. White to serve as the first Adviser to the organization.
The College Republican organization is the nation’s oldest and largest grassroots political organization in existence. James Francis Burke, who would later serve as Congressman from 1905 -1915, founded the first College Republican Chapter at the University of Michigan in 1892.
More Republicans received their first taste of politics in College Republicans than any other organization in the Nation. We provide the training in conservative thought, political technology and grassroots lobbying which changes young voters into principled activist for the Republican Party. Today there are over 1,200 College Republican Chapters across the U.S.
