Bassoon-Clarinet-Contrabassoon-Euphonium-Flute-Oboe-Trombone-Tuba

Students will learn about many aspects of performing on their instrument in a chamber music setting. Ensembles will be assembled in homogenous and/or heterogeneous instrument groupings based upon the experience levels of the students. Musical activities will include ensemble rehearsals, master classes, and performances by both faculty and students.

In addition to the musical offerings, there will be opportunities for students to spend time with one another and to enjoy campus life. Activities will include time at the Preston Health and Activities Center, a state-of-the-art facility contains a weight room, upstairs running track, basketball and volleyball courts, and racquetball courts. Downing University Center has an activity area that includes bowling, billiards and video games.

This exciting weekend will culminate in a concert that your parents and friends can attend.

Campers will be housed in an air–conditioned residence hall and will eat all meals (except for one pizza party) in the University dining hall. Campers must bring their own toiletries, sheets, towels, and pillow from home. Camp students will be housed on a two per room basis and they may choose a roommate who is also attending camp. Each student who does not come with a roommate will be paired with someone close to his/her age.

Most meals will be provided and will be served in the Downing University Center which offers a cafeteria-style service that allows campers to eat as much food as they wish at every meal with a wide variety of choices.

While staying in the residence halls, all camp students will be under the careful supervision of the Music Camp Staff.
