The Underground World: Exploring the World of Caves
Mammoth Cave National Park in the early spring is abundant with the wonderful colors of nature. Delve into the vast subterranean world of Mammoth Cave, the longest cave system in the world. Expert park rangers/instructors will guide your exploration of the cave as well as the region above it. Stand in awe of Mammoth Dome, vertical shafts reaching heights of 192 feet, and the Bottomless Pit, reaching depths of 105 feet. Coming above ground, learn of the indigenous and diverse flora and fauna and the fascinating wildlife through hiking the nature trails.
This is a very active program involving stairs and some narrow paths. Fee includes meals, lodging and all activities during this six-day, five-night program. Commuter rates are available. Anyone interested in more information should call our office at (270) 745-1912.
