Admission to Pre-SLP
We will begin accepting applications for the Summer 2013 cohort on September 1, 2012. Deadline for application is February 1, 2013 for the general online Pre-SLP program and for the online UFT/New York City Department of Education Pre-SLP program.
Criteria for Admission
- 3.2 overall undergraduate GPA by the time you would begin Pre-SLP courses.
Steps in Applying for Admission
1. Click here to access the application. Send this application along with ALL official transcripts from ALL universities attended to the attention of April Cochran:
WKU Communication Disorders Department
ATTN: April Cochran
1906 College Heights Blvd #41030
Bowling Green, KY 42101-1030
Transcripts may be sent directly from your universities, or you may collect them in signed, sealed envelopes and forward them as a packet with your application. If your transcripts will be arriving under a different last name (such as a maiden name), please note this on your application form.
If you send your application form directly to the Admissions Office, the CD Department may not know that you have applied, and you may not be included in the candidate selection. Do not send your application fee at this time.
2. You will receive an email message indicating that your application has been received in the CD department. Your transcripts will be reviewed for the four basic sciences and any CD courses you may have taken, and you will be notified of the results of that review.
3. Applicants will be ranked after the deadline, and a selection will be made. You will receive notification of your status (accepted or not accepted) within approximately 45 days via email. Be sure to include on your application an email address which you will be checking regularly. If you are accepted, your application materials will be forwarded to the Admissions Office, and you will be notified that you must send your application fee at that time.
4. Once you have been admitted into a cohort, you will receive information regarding registration, your WKU email account, Blackboard training, and enrollment in classes.
