Non 2+2 Students
Many CIT majors transfer to WKU after completing their associate’s degree from a partner institution. Other majors are traditional on-campus students. Some are non-traditional, adult, or returning students.
If you are a ‘non-2+2’ student (you haven’t completed an associate’s degree in IT) you will start the major by completing a set of foundational courses. These required classes will introduce you to the key subject areas in the discipline and prepare you for more advanced study in your electives.
We strive to make the CIT program as flexible and accessible as possible. To help with this, we offer the foundational series as on-line courses through WKU’s Independent Learning office. IL allows students to sign up for these courses any time they’d like. This allows new majors to get a jump start on their studies and not have to wait until a new school year begins.
Visit WKU’s Independent Learning website.
You will need to complete: CIT 310, 312, 330, 332, 350, and 370 before moving on to other courses in the program.
When you have completed these (6) courses, you should register for CIT 300, 302, 352, and 372 in your next regular semester.
