Undergrate and graduate students in the Worksite Health Promotion program in the Department of Public Health in the College of Health and Human Services recently visited Logan Aluminum in Russellville, KY. During their trip to Logan Aluminum, the students got to see a worksite wellness program that is nationally renowned and they learned about the benefits and challenges that go along with maintaining an effective wellness program.
Logan Aluminum’s Benefits, Medical, and Wellness Manager, Johnny White, has been sharing the Wellness Program with WKU Worksite Health Promotion students for 10 years. They have been generous enough to provide an entire day to enlighten the students to what a successful worksite wellness program can achieve in the quality of life of their employees. The students also recieve lunch and a plant tour.
Johnny White remarked on how important Logan’s Benefits, Medica,l & Wellness Mission is to the company. The mission states “Viewing our employees as our most valuable resource, our mission is to promote the overall health and well-being of our employees.”
