Message from the Dean
The College of Health and Human Services (CHHS) at WKU was established in August 2002 to emphasize the importance of academic units in health and human services. Our vision is to be recognized as a college that offers exemplary programs in these fields.
The College is comprised of seven academic units representing a diverse array of health and human service professions. The College prepares students for careers in health care professions such as nursing, social work, speech-pathology, and dental hygiene; as teachers in physical education and family science; and as human service professionals in hospitality management, interior design, outdoor recreation, public health and sport management. The College has its roots in outreach to the community. Theories and concepts learned in the classroom are applied to a comprehensive understanding of community stewardship which provide a valuable service learning component for our students and faculty.
The mission of the college is to provide diverse educational opportunities leading to excellence in health and human services for a global community. Please explore our webpages and gather information about our programs, faculty, and services offered. We hope you will be inspired to contact us for further information about enrolling in a program of study in health and human services.
