Why Choose Nursing as a Career?

The ANA (American Nurses Assoication) defines nursing as:

"Nursing is the protection, promotion, and optimization of health and abilities, prevention of illness and injury, alleviation of suffering through the diagnosis and treatment of human response, and advocacy in the care of individuals, families, communities, and population."

In other words, nursing careers involve many different challenges and responsibilities! Nurses are involved with all aspects of a patient's care, from providing therapeutic and diagnostic procedures to providing comfort to patient's and their families.

If you love helping others, if you are truly passionate about the human spirit, and really want to make a difference in the lives of others. If you are not afraid of hard-work, have excellent attention to detail, nursing may be an option for you!
