Our department has a long and rich tradition that can be traced back to the very beginning of the university when the first WKU president appointed his daughter as instructor of Physical Hygiene. The Department of PER recognizes the importance of quality undergraduate and graduate degree programs and our majors are in the areas of physical education pedagogy, exercise science, recreation management, and sports administration. The minors within the department include American Humanics, Athletic Coaching, Physical Education, Outdoor Leadership, Recreation Administration and Tourism.
