On Wednesday, May 13, Dr. Dana Bradley hosted a reception at the Faculty House to induct the new members into the Kappa Upsilon Chapter of Sigma Phi Omega, a national academic honor & professional society in gerontology. During this reception, Senior Scholars from Village Manor were also honored, and Mayor Walker presented the proclamation declaring May as Older American's Month. |

On May 7, the students of WKU and members of the Bowling Green community and surrounding areas flocked to Diddle Arena to hear acclaimed filmmaker Spike Lee speak. Lee has produced many independent films such as "Do the Right Thing", "Malcolm X", "Inside Man", and "Miracle at St. Anna". |

WKU's enrollment is growing, as noted by the record 19,785 students last fall. And so it comes as no surprise that in WKU's 165th commencement ceremony, degrees were conferred to 1,946 students, a record number of spring graduates. This year, the ceremony was split up into three sections: the graduate ceremony on Friday night and two undergraduate ceremonies on Sunday afternoon. | |

Dean John Bonaguro was awarded the 2009 American Association for Health Education (AAHE) Fellow Award. This award recognized his meritorious, substantive and consistent service and leadership on national AAHE committees and boards along with his service to the health education profession. He also received the 2009 AAHE Professional Service to Health Education Award. |
