Jason Hildabrand, a 2001 WKU graduate with a Bachelor’s Degree in Interior Design will be among the approximately two dozen decorators, painters, and electricians recruited by the Lexington-based L.V. Harkness & Company to restore the Old Governor’s Mansion in Frankfort.

The Western Kentucky University School of Nursing was selected to receive a 2009 Lieutenant Colonel Richard J. Berrettinni Memorial Scholarship grant from the Army Nurse Corps Association (ANCA).

Congrats to Dr. Ann Beth Presley, a Textiles and Apparel Merchandising alumni. She has been selected as one of 24 recipients from North and South America for the Attingham Trust Summer School class of 2009.

WKU graduate students enrolled in REC 515, Recreation and Sport Facility Development spent the May term learning about planning, designing, and constructing recreation and sport facilities. The field-based course engages students while learning about facility design trends, construction terminology, the roles of planning and construction professionals, construction standards established by various governing and professional bodies (OSHA, ADA, AAHPERD, ACSM, USGBC), universal design and accessibility, facility risk management, and green design and sustainability initiatives.

On June 18, 2009 WBKO ran a "View from the Hill" segment that featured WKU’s Smart Bites program. Smart Bites is a program that was started to motivate young people to make better food choices while eating out. Click here to view the video and full story.
